Doozydog! Club, one of the “Top A Lister Dog Hangouts” according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be coming to the ground floor retail space at View 14, 2303 14th Street N.W., this winter.
The parent company of the club concept, which features dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and a boutique shop, has five other locations across Southern California, Washington and Texas.
“Our new Club in Washington, D.C. fits nicely with our expansion plans.” said Phillip Kasdorf, founding partner, in a prepared statement. “Our Clubs have become wildly popular and an iconic stopping point for pedestrians who love to watch the dogs playing through the window. We are excited to bring our modern dog experience to the U Street Corridor community this winter.”
The 4,500 square foot club will feature four “Play Parks,” organic treats, filtered water, and a “state-of-the-art Style Bar.”
The D.C. Zoning Commission recently approved a request to amend the Planned Unit Development for View 14 to allow a petcare facility use in the vacant ground floor retail. It will be the first such facility in a residential building in the city.
Doozydog! will feature an entrance on 14th Street NW and the owners agreed to place restrictions on drop-off and pick-up to prevent double parking.
The facility also went through a sound-proofing process to prevent barking from becoming a nuisance to building residents. As we previously reported, a hundred View 14 residents signed a petition in support of the project, including three that live directly above the retail space.
